The Asian Collective for Health Systems (TACHS) recently convened a high-level roundtable in Sri Lanka to bridge the gap between national priorities and global health architecture—advancing conversations on a more inclusive and responsive system of health governance.
🗓️Date: March 27, 2026
📍Location: Colombo, Sri Lanka
The roundtable brought together senior officials from Ministries of Health and Foreign Affairs, alongside leading academics and civil society experts from across the region.
Discussions focused on addressing persistent disconnects between global institutions such as the WHO and World Bank and local health needs, exploring how regional platforms like ASEAN, SAARC, and BIMSTEC can play a stronger role in agenda-setting, and drawing lessons from COVID-19 to inform the upcoming Pandemic Agreement and strengthen Pandemic Prevention, Preparedness, and Response (PPPR) frameworks across South and Southeast Asia.
