Policy Exchange Series on Governing Health and Climate Change; Episode 3: Lessons from India

This closed-door, invite only virtual dialogue is designed to facilitate free and open exchange on the lessons across peers in the region on the pathways towards institutionalizing climatehealth governance within health systems.
After a successful Episode 1 on Nepal, and Episode 2 on Indonesia, Episode 3 will take a deep dive into how India is embedding climate considerations within its health system architecture.
Presenter: Dr. Purvi Patel (Visiting Associate Fellow, Sustainable Futures Collaborative; Former Senior Consultant, National Programme on Climate Change and Human Health, Ministry of Health and Family Welfare, Indiaand Dr Upasona Ghosh (Associate Professor, Indian Institute of Public Health, Bhubaneswar; Member of WHO SEARO Regional Expert Group on Environmental Determinants of Health and Climate Change)
Through this exchange, we aim to better understand the practical mechanics of governing climate and health: financing pathways, intersectoral coordination, capacity-building, and systems for monitoring and accountability. As part of our ongoing research on climate–health governance, this dialogue seeks to surface actionable lessons, implementation challenges, and replicable models through country case studies that can inform equitable and climate-resilient health systems across Asia.
