At the Health Diplomacy House during the 79th World Health Assembly, CSEP, TACHS, and UNU-IIGH convened a discussion on Changing Paradigms of Global Health Governance and Health Security Architecture: Reflections from South and Southeast Asia.
The session featured opening remarks by David McCoy and presentations by Priyadarshini Singh and Nadine Monteiro, drawing on two ongoing research studies on global and regional health governance and equity provisions on the pandemic agreement.
Reflections from Yik Ying Teo and Suerie Moon helped frame a discussion on the evolving role of the WHO amid shifting financing realities, the relevance and functions of regional institutions in addressing shared health challenges, and the opportunities presented by legal instruments such as the WHO Pandemic Agreement.
